In the community...
We’re more than just a care home for our residents!
Health walks
Our Health Walks take place every Thursday from 10.30am to 12.00pm and are based in the Day Room at Crieff Community Hospital. We usually have around 40 people attending each week.
We offer three different walk lengths to suit a range of abilities and mobility levels, from a gentle 20-minute walk to walks lasting just over an hour. Following the walks, everyone enjoys tea, coffee, biscuits and a chat.
On the first Thursday of each month (March to November), we also organise a coach trip to another area for a walk, followed by refreshments. These outings are always very popular and provide an opportunity to explore new places and meet new people.
Friendship Group
Our Friendship Group also meets in the Day Room at Crieff Community Hospital from 10.30am to 12.00pm every second Friday.
This is a smaller, relaxed group with around 15 to 20 people attending regularly. Activities vary and include games, crafts, guest speakers and socialising over tea and coffee.
The next Friendship Group meeting will be on Friday 2 October, and it will continue fortnightly after that.
Both groups are friendly and welcoming, and we are always delighted to meet new people. If you feel either group would be suitable for you, Everyone is very welcome to come along and give it a try.
Carers Café
Our monthly Carers Café provides a friendly and supportive space for unpaid carers to meet, share experiences and access helpful information and advice.
The café is attended by representatives from the local council, PKAVS, Carers Voice and Social Prescribing services, giving carers direct access to a range of support and guidance. Just as importantly, it offers the opportunity to connect with others who understand the challenges and rewards of caring for a loved one.
Attendance continues to grow each month, demonstrating the positive impact the group has on local carers. Through peer support, practical advice and social connection, the Carers Café helps reduce isolation, improve wellbeing and support carers to continue in their caring role with confidence.
By helping carers feel informed, valued and supported, the Carers Café also benefits the people they care for, promoting stronger relationships and helping individuals remain independent and connected to their communities for longer.
