Richmond House Care Home is registered for 35 placements. The Home aims to provide a high standard of accommodation in 35 rooms, all of which offer en-suite facilities. We specialize in elderly care for those who require assistance with daily living personal care and in particular those who have Mental Health concerns.
In addition to the Home Managers, the Home employs a Deputy Manager, a Care Coordinator, two Care leaders, five Senior Carers, a team of Highly trained Care Assistants (full and part time), an Activities co-ordinator, a Kitchen Manager, an Assistant Chef, two Kitchen Assistants, five Domestic & Laundry Staff and a Maintenance Team.
During the day, there are always at least 2 seniors and 10 members of staff on duty, excluding the Home Managers. Overnight, there are always four members of staff on duty and a senior member of staff is always on call. There is always a manager on call 24/7. All new staff receive training in the home’s philosophy and values as part of their induction training.
Richmond House Care Home is owned and operated by the Directors of Richmond House (Rhyl) Ltd. The Responsible Individual is Mrs Emma Burt (RGN, and Dip. H & Sc Residential Management). Emma has over 20 years’ experience as a Registered Nurse at Ysbyty Glan Clwyd, she is keenly involved in overseeing the day to day operation of the home and working in partnership with Rebecca Wallis; Registered Manager, who is also a Registered Nurse (and Dip. H & Sc Residential Management) and again, experience spanning over 20 years. They are joined by Deputy Manager; Mrs Amanda Hughes (BA (hons), FDA, Dip H & Sc Adult Management) who has over 20 years’ experience in Health & Social Care.
Richmond House provides a much-needed local service in Denbighshire and has maintained high standards since opening in 2011. From the design of the building to the tasteful decoration, high quality training and staff, everything has been built, designed and tailored to maximise support, comfort and high quality of life for the residents who have chosen to reside at Richmond House. National TV programmes have also featured Richmond House on several occasions, as being a home Residents do actually choose for themselves because of the all-important high standard of care and Person Centred Practice.
Person Centred Care and dignity is evident through-out the home and instilled in the staff that are employed by Richmond House and all Residents are given choice at every opportunity. Essential living skills are encouraged such as preparing veg, folding linen and assisting with light cleaning or setting the tables. We have a large budget specifically for Activities and events both internal and external, in order to maintain Mental Health stimulation and well-being as well as independence. Staff are genuinely interested in the Residents and close bonds and affection are apparent in the way staff interact with the Residents. A good family atmosphere exudes from every corner of the home and staff work well as a team which has been tested on two or more occasions in the last few years. Management are well liked and respected and genuinely care about the staff that they employ, and they strive to provide the very best for the Residents. Excellent and trusting relationships have been built between Management, relatives/guardians and other outside agencies with whom an affiliation is held with, working in partnership to continue to provide the highest quality service. Richmond House are also very proud to hold the title of ‘Top 20 Care Home in Wales’ since 2015, and will continue to work hard to maintain the title in years to come by upholding our promise to provide high quality care for the Residents.
