At Richmond House, we recognise the importance of home cooked and nutritious food. Good quality food features highly within the home. Service-users are actively encouraged to be involved with menu planning.
Residents are encouraged to participate in essential living key skills such as preparation of veg, light baking and preparation, growing own vegetables, light dusting, setting tables, folding laundry, brass cleaning etc designed to maintain skills and enhance independence.
We have an Activities co-ordinator who, along with the highly skilled staff, encourage service-users to participate in our large extended activities programme. We have various outside services who come to the home as well as the care staff interacting with the service-users within the home.
We welcome families to participate in these events and activities. We also encourage service users to continue with their ELS (Essential Living Skills), under supervision, in order to maintain independence for as long as is possible.
